Welding Mhlongo

PROJECT MANAGER

Born in Welverdiend in 1966, he started working at the Londolozi lodge in 1994 and 3 years later he joined Singita lodge in February 1997. At Singita Welding started as a porter. Then he was promoted several times as follows;
Waiter
Bartender
Beverage manager

He joined the airport management at Singita and finally in 2008 he moved to Project Management which is a second branch for Human resource management. He became the first black person to manage the staff’s welfare budget and clients’ community development funds. It was at this time in October 2009 that we met Welding and he started to take care of
our 10 children through his work at Singita.
He left Singita in July 2010 and after that he has been working full time with our NOSA project.

Thanks to Welding being a local who worked his way up, the NOSA project has been possible to carry through. Welding has been a great inspiration to all our children and to the children of Justicia, and he shows that if you have courage and work hard, you can get far.

An era has sadly come to an end: Welding Nhlongo, NOSA’s project manager, passed away suddenly on Sunday 9 February 2025 after a heart attack.
It would not have been possible to build and run NOSA without his amazing efforts.
He was always very positive, in both the ups and downs, and always in a good mood.
His motto was “we always strive to fulfill our promises and change the poor”.
We remember all our wonderful trips to Justicia with Welding over the past 16 years.
He will be deeply missed.
